The Thessaloniki International Film Festival (TIFF) is the oldest festival that runs in Thessaloniki (founded in 1960) and the area of Balkans in general. It is the top film Festival of the South Eastern Europe which constitutes a presentation platform for emerging film makers all over the world.

During its first years of establishment Thessaloniki’s Film Festival had scope to present every year for one week the latest Greek Cinema movies. In 1992 it become international and added in its activities a competition for feature length films by emerging directors. Thessaloniki’s Film Festival is in a continuous evolving stage and is in close collaboration with various local, national, regional and international film institutions, cultural, educational and social organizations, as well as embassies and cultural agencies from other countries.

The Festival takes place yearly at the beginning of November and last for 10 days. If you love cinema and happen to visit Thessaloniki during November you will be amazed by the variety and quality of the films presented.
