Navarinou Square, is located downtown, at the heart of the center of Thessaloniki. It is located close to a very famous complex of Roman era buildings (Galerius Palace, Rotunda, Galerius Arch and Hippodrome) that was built during the times Galerius was one of the co-emperors of the Tetrarch of Thessaloniki (late 3rd AC century).
Navarinou, is a very famous area of Thessaloniki which is always full of people that pass on their way to the beach, the shopping market or the old city of Thessaloniki. In recent years it has become also an attraction for tourists and several modern and alternative cafe’s, bars and restaurants are located there.
If you happen to pass by the area, you will definitely make a stop to see the part of the Galerius Palace that has been preserved. It is only a small part of it though as most of its facilities have been lost under the buildings that surrounds the area. You should certainly not miss the chance also to try the crepes, salty or sweet, that are made by some small street shops. They are famous for offering the best crepes in Greece!
