Thessaloniki is a city with a history of more than 2300 years and some ancient monuments, byzantine period, Ottoman period but also modern period buildings have a lot to say about how the city’s architecture has evolved during all these years. The event is organized every November for 2 days by the non-governmental and non-profit organization Open House Greece. During these two days dozens of historic buildings and modern architecture treasures open their gates free to the public and make their architecture accessible to all. The Open House Festival aims to contribute to the deeper understanding of urban design and public space and enable all citizens and visitors to explore and understand the value of a well-designed built environment.
The Open House Festival is an opportunity to see the city from a different angle, travel in history and meet with the present visiting many hidden city neighborhoods. It will satisfy your senses for sure.
