Thessaloniki water supply museum runs by the Water and Sewer company of Thessaloniki . It is located in the west part of Thessaloniki in a historic building block which was built at the end of 19th century (1890-94) by the Ottoman Water Company (Compagnie Ottomane Des Eaux de Salonique) to cover the needs of organizing the city’s water supply. It is composed by three main buildings:
- The building where the machines were located
- The boilers room together with a warehouse were the coil was stored
- The administration building in which accommodates a related topic library with a archive of historic maps, drawings and photos that belonged to the company.
Additional to this, visitors can also see an area were some old water supply equipment are stored. The Museum is mainly visited by school students and in cooperation with its administration offices there is a possibility to organize educational classes related to water.
